SEPTEMBER 27, 2004 - The band is back at home after pulling off two huge shows at the Lone Star Biker Rally in Galveston Texas. The Lone Star Rally is the largest event of its kind in Texas and thousands of motorcycles roared down Galveston's famous "Strand" all weekend. We pulled up to the main stage at about 4pm on Friday and were greeted by Carlos the stage manager and his crew. They hauled all our gear up to the stage and started helping us set up. We were given the royal treatment as they took care of everything we needed, and we want to thank the crew for all they did for us. We hope they enjoy the Stone Kings T-Shirts we gave them as a thank you gift. As the sun blazed down upon the stage the Stone Kings kicked off their set of original music, with just a few classic cover songs added for flavor. The whole show went very smoothly and the guys from Great White even hung out off stage to check out our show. We rocked for an hour and twenty minutes and the crowd screamed for an encore as we waved goodbye. Its always good to leave them wanting more. After the crew loaded our van back up and we mingled with all the rockstars at the backstage party, we went over to a lovely upscale venue called "Roof Gardens" to headline the "Biker Ball". A good time was had by all, including the Metro 50 girls who truly out did themselves by coming all the way to Galveston to catch BOTH Stone Kings shows. We played till well after midnight when the cops came down the street shutting everything down. We'd like to thank "Tuna" for letting us play at his fine air conditioned establishment. The Stone Kings can't wait for the 2005 Lone Star Rally. It just gets better and better every year. Once we got back to Houston we heard the news that we have three songs being played on New Artist Radio. Visit NEW ARTIST RADIO to vote for the Stone Kings and to hear our music.

SEPTEMBER 7, 2004 - We wrapped another most triumphant weekend of rock and roll! Friday nights show at Froggie's was really a treat since we saw so many familiar faces in the crowd. Eddie and Michelle Hollycross traveled 900 miles just to request an AC/DC song. Casey and Jesse Calvert were seen in the audience kicking back a few cold beers and trying to start a mosh pit. The Metro 50 girls were nothing short of spectacular as they kept the dance floor rockin' while sporting their brand new Stone Kings T-Shirts. The Stone Kings Posse can't wait to crank up again at Froggie's.Saturday night we rolled over to Mulligan's and More on the upper west side. Mulligan's staff treated us great and showed all the Stone Kings fans a good time. We behaved ourselves that night and just concentrated on rocking Mulligan's. Randy Von Folk didn't even ride his Harley across the green this time, and we were all appreciative of that!

AUGUST 3, 2004- Hear ye, Hear ye! It should be told that in the past, wanderers did come upon them in the night where the revelers gather. And they went rocking into that good night. Three strange days....indeed. Rock's royalty reigned supreme this past weekend as the four StoneKings road off to conquer new loyal subjects. Thursday night was ladies night at the Oz Bar.....need we say more? The marquee said it all. Hard bodies and hard rock, no place but Texas m'Lord. The StoneKings then looked upon the nubile nymphette for she had invented topless Karaoke. And it was lamented they all used the word perky too much and many a lick had been missed. They did cry the party had just begun and traveled afar and lo, the Stone Kings annointed a new venue Friday night....Wrecker's on Galveston Bay. At the foot of a serene sunset, a flock of brown Pelicans wafted on the prevailing winds set against the backdrop of the burn-off valves gleaming in the evening sky. The refinery lights gave a warm orange hue to the horizon as the Stone Kings lit up the motorcycle parking lot in a feast for eyes and ears and, as it turned out, the decibel meter. Ring the decibel thricely, he commanded, lest thine 85 become 90. The stage stood surreal in stark contrast to the water and shoreline. Sorry, the royal photographer was frolicking with the court jester and captured not a single image. Off with their heads, he commanded! It felt a little like Total Recall on Peyote. And you'd think all the King's work would be done, but alas, we shan't rest as long as there are subjects to rock. Saturday night was at Papas Ice House on 45. As the sign says as you turn into the parking lot, "congratulations, you've found it," the best kept secret in North Houston gave up the party again. Lots of good friends, libations and liberty for all, even though you have to look for this location. I always just drive overland. Forget the street. And as the Stone Kings packed the royal caravan and stole into the night, they knew their loyal subjects had been rocked, and they saw that it was good. So, let it be written, and it was done.

JULY 20, 2004- Boats, babes, and rock and roll. The last leg of our Texas tour was full of all three. Saturday night's festivities took place at AL's SPORTS BAR. The crowd at AL's is always ready to rock and this night was no exception. The dance floor got a good work out and the band sure had a wonderful time. Things got even more interesting when the band played RIVERSIDE INN in Channelview Texas the following day. The place was packed wall to wall with boaters, bikers, and local music lovers. This was the largest crowd that the Stone Kings have played to at RIVERSIDE INN. When the sun is shining the Channelview locals like to get out and party on the water. The evening was topped off by a bikini clad cat fight that alone was certainly worth the cost of admission . We love RIVERSIDE INN!

JUNE 29, 2004- REALITY IS STRANGER THAN FICTION--- Never in our wildest dreams could we imagine the outcome of last weekends shows. Starting things off we cruised over to the Northwest side to play Froggie's Saloon. We didn't realize that we were not only playing for the regular patrons, but also three large birthday parties. Froggie's was packing them in shoulder to shoulder and everybody in the house was ready to rock! By the second set the dance floor was so packed that I thought about stage diving and crowd surfing my way to the bar to get a beer. Instead of crowd surfing I worked my way onto the dance floor to "bust a move" with my fellow party animals, and as soon as I set foot on the dance floor I was molested by four unknown women that promptly grabbed my ass. By the end of the third set the fans were screaming for an encore and refused to let us tear down our gear, so we gave them a few extra dance songs just to wind down the night. We've gotta send a shout out to the awesome wait staff and bartenders at Froggie's. They kept the drinks flowing and the atmosphere laid back which provided a great setting for the Stone Kings rock show. On Saturday night we rolled the bus over to Al's Sports Bar on Dairy Ashford. At first it seemed like a typical night for the band, but as we rocked through the first set the people poured into the club and the dancers started shakin' thier groove thang. We've gotta thank our new pals Joe and Holly for providing the band with the "clothing optional" entertainment. They were a blast and we hope to see them again soon.....if you know what I mean. It was all fun and games until the cops showed up. Speaking of cops....Sunday we played the lovely tourist town of Baytown Texas. Our new friend Rocky asked us to play at his club Pelican Junction to show the local bikers what Texas rock music is all about. I hadn't recovered from the night before and I was really late getting to the venue. I raced in and jumped on stage five minutes late but no one seemed to mind since they were occupied with eating great crawfish and downing some domestic brews. We gave the people about two and half sets of Stone Kings music before the cops showed up with their high tech decibal meters to crack down on us. They were just doing their job and looking out for the best interest of the local neighbors, so they asked us to be quiet. Stone Kings Mexican jumping bassist Eddie Lee King was quoted as saying "Dude, playing loud is what we're known for!"In the words of AC/DC- "Rock and roll ain't noise pollution"

JUNE 22. 2004- The Stone Kings just wrapped up a weekend full of shows in the beautiful industrial city of La Porte Texas. We played back to back nights at the lovely Chantilly Room located on Broadway. The regulars at the Chantilly Room are used to seeing a few local "tear in my beer" country bands grace the stage, but as soon as the Stone Kings cranked up the guitars and Randy Von Folk let out primal rock and roll scream you could feel the excitement in the room. Dozens of music lovers told us that the Stone Kings rock show was a refreshing change to the usual music that is booked at the Chantilly Room. We were sure pleased to see many people make it out ot both shows, including La Porte's very own Chief of Police who was seen "busting a move" out on the dance floor both Friday and Saturday night. Word spread fast about the band and we've been asked to do another show in the same area at Pelican Junction on Sunday June 27th! We'll post more information on the Schedule page as it comes available.

MAY 3, 2004- Another weekend of rock and roll mayhem comes to a close. The Memorial Day weekend brought great crowds to all three Stone Kings shows! We started out at our old hang out Froggie's Saloon playing to a packed house of dancing fools and party animals, then it was off to Al's Sports Bar down on Dairy Ashford for an even better party. Most of the Calvert family showed up to cheer us on, and we were even graced with the presence of St. Louis native Michelle Hollycross! We never know who is going to stop in to see us play. On Sunday we loaded up the bus drove south to Galveston to play Brodies Beach Hut. It was a hot and humid day but several brave rock and roll fans hung out with us on the deck all afternoon. Several familiar faces were in the crowd that day including Tim and Janet Clay, rock star Shane Cagle, and the very lovely and telented Krysta Raghoonanansingh of LEVEL NINE PHOTOGRAPHY. She was in town to snap a few photos of the band. Of course in that humidity and heat we probably all looked like wet dogs, but sometimes rock and roll ain't pretty.

April 23, 2004- The show last night at OZ BAR was off the HOOK! We'd like to thank all of our new biker buddies for coming out and having such a great time with us. The crowd was packed in shoulder to shoulder and the peeps were screaming for the Stone Kings till the wee hours of the morning. The band is still recovering from all the tequila that was flowing last night. I think I ate the worm....but I can't remember. Yvonne and everyone at the OZ BAR sure know how put on a great party. We hope to play out there again very soon. Rumor has it that we'll be back in September sometime. Keep an eye on the schedule!

April 12, 2004--- A pivotal weekend as the StoneKings launched the "give the people what they want" Texas tour.  A rowdy throng of royal subjects showed up for a stellar performance at Cosmos inside the loop at Washington and Heights Blvd. Great venue, good food and lots of fun as Kathy Thomas, president of the StoneKings fan club, was presented with the dented cymbal award for her tireless diligence in forwarding all things StoneKingly. Great turnout from the Metro 50 rider's club and good to see Rick, Morgan and Sean so far from home and enjoying the riotous action. Thanks Elisa for sending your friends...... when their tops came off, I was surprised, but knowing they were your friends, we'll I just had to look. We can't say enough good things about Cosmos, but especially that it's so near us all.  Hope we get in there again soon . It's a great rush to be riding in on the tour bus (84) and see your band's name on the marquee.  Sweet deal and all the bartenders and waitresses were spectacular.  Thank God Friday was a holiday or there would have been a hangover at work.

(UPDATE: COSMO'S SHORTED US $100 OF PAY)Then it was off to Fogettaboutit over on Jones Road to inaugurate the newly-commissioned Public Address system.  Seems the same guys that run the system at the Sidecar Pub were lined up to generate the sound at this over-the-top party habitat. The sound sure boomed and the StoneKings fans were treated to a great show.  We're particularly fond of the large stage and a big shout out to TIMBER.......just the prettiest and most genuinely sweet bartender we've ever met.  Don't know why they call her Timber, but I know the band had wood. She's usually over at the Forgettaboutit Too.....but it was great to see her Friday.....she sure knows how to pop a top.

Then it was off to Austin's
Sam's Boat.  Giant room, great food and plenty of friendly faces as the StoneKings were invited back to the Live Music Capital of the World after rocking the state capital at South by So-what there back in March.  Unfortunately, we had to breech a weather feature to get there, but the wind, rain and golf ball-sized hail did little to dampen the spirits of the partygoers in Austin.  It's a center of higher learning and Saturday night is important in the scheme of things as far as rehabilitation from all that heavy-thinking. Thanks to some glib networking by the "lovely" StoneQueen Kelly Carpenter, the StoneKings supported by our great friend and mentor Steve Owens, moved the loyal army into the friendly Sam's digs and proceeded to take no prisoners. Rock and Roll, scantily-clad nymphets, cold beer and the wild party in the hotel room later turned Sunday brunch into a quiet, subdued affair but, we're back in town now and none the worse for the wear.

We down for this week because me and The Deb are celebrating 11 years of wedded bliss and I'll be too spent to perform any more. However, don't despair because Cj has us working diligently to finish the Cd and have it out as soon as possible.  Just a few finishing touches and some artwork and we're headed your way with a product that captures the brilliance and wildly popular act that you've been so patiently following. Tired of hip-hop and burned out on Britney?  Feel that Madonna's career, like her breasts, are beginning to sag?  Did the announcement of the new Van Halen tour make you yawn?  Well, check out our new Cd.  The music, whose soul was carved in the barrooms of Texas, is as freewheeling and wild as Texas politics in a war.  We're gathering a collection of songs written by each of the members and some from some friends, but all are songs that have been following us around in one form or another.  It's distinctively Texas music with an edge that demands attention wherever we play it. Thanks for your support and hopefully Matt can give you a ride in his limo one day........if you're nice. Props out to my peeps and peace out mah brothers and sistahs.
