After just a short visit one afternoon, I felt like I had known Randy a lifetime. He’s such an open, honest soft spoken fella, just ask any of the local music community who know him. And all of them agree he’s got one dynamic, powerful voice, especially for such a small man. But then the old saying is “DYNAMITE COMES IN SMALL PACKAGES”!

Randy Folk rounds out the popular band StoneKings as lead singer: he joined up with Ed, Skip, CJ, and Matt in early 2003.

Houston born and bred, except for a brief stay in Austin, Randy’s background in music includes bands dating back to the early 80’s such as the Pictures, Level and then the last few years, Stealin’ Time. It became quickly evident during our talk that numerous members of his family share his musical talents. Randy’s brother and he formed the Pictures, Johnny was lead singer, Randy played bass and back-up vocals. Years later with encouragement form friends and family Randy took the leap to lead singer and left the bass playing to his uncle Adrian.

Early influences to Randy’s musical background were Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, The Doors, and Bad Company. “However my earliest interest in singing and Rock-n-Roll music were when I heard the Beatles”, Randy said.
